Wellness

New Puppies, adults and senior pets should have a complete physical examination every year. Physical examinations can detect conditions such as heart disease, cancer, or early osteoarthritis that may not show any clinical signs.

Our veterinarians will take time to explain the benefits and risks of any test required. We understand that there is so much information available that may or may not be true; if you ever have any questions, just let us know.

Recommendations may include:

Annual Vaccinations
Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Test
Heartworm Test
Fecal Exam (to detect intestinal parasites)
Special Diet

Dental Prophylaxis:

Annual teeth cleaning was once thought to only be important in people. However, families are now understanding how important teeth cleaning is to their pets.

Research has shown that, on average, having routine dental care for your pets will increase their life expectancy by approximately 2 years.

The main difference between animal teeth cleaning and human teeth cleaning is the necessity for general anesthesia. At Carroll County Animal Hospital, we use safe, short-acting anesthetics for this procedure so your pet can be discharged the same day.

With an ultrasonic scaler and polisher, we are able to rid your pet of damaging plaque and bacteria as well as bad breath.
